As we know, the emergence of scooters until now, has been more than 100 years of history.  However, there is no complete introduction of the scooter in that year on the Internet at present. After many searches, Veron.com found that the scooter in that year had many epoch-making meanings, and some concepts have even been used to this day.

In early 1915, New York-based Autoped introduced their flagship product Autoped, a gasoline-powered device that fitted scooters with gasoline engines, and opened a retail store in Long Island City, Queens, New York, in the fall of 1915 for $100 each,  That's about $3,000 in today's prices.

One of Autoped's most famous images, below, shows the feminist Florence Norman riding her scooter to work in the London office where she worked as a supervisor in 1916.  The scooter was a birthday present from her husband, Sir Henry Norman, a journalist and Liberal politician.  So Autoped was also a symbol of feminism.
Because at that time, bicycles and motor vehicles (cars) were mostly owned by noblemen, women almost had no chance to drive.
